Kaifu Japanese Cuisine – Charleston, WV

We are staying in downtown Charleston very close to the convention center, with so many hotel around one would this that quality restaurants would be everywhere.  There might be but they are not obvious, so a hit up of the review sites was in order and this place kept coming up.  Without putting in sushi mind you; you all know that we love sushi.  After wrapping up our show we headed for this described hole in the wall.  I would not call it that.  Yes it was small and simple but the staff was great any you can see that they are really trying.  It is just a simple sushi joint.

Josh and I shared a variety of rolls all house recipes and tried the one below, Red Snapper Roll.  Josh had been wanting to see what the fuss was about.  Well the fuss was wrong, it was boring but this is the only one I would say that about.  They rest were divine, one review we read said that Kaifu is not for those who are new to sushi.  I would agree that rolls are very meaty and wonderful.

Frank went for the seared tuna and enjoyed it.   They have a menu that would be suitable for anyone in your party, sushi lover or not.  I would give this hole in the wall a thumbs up.
